AtkinsRéalis teams with Anduril UK

AtkinsRéalis, a global engineering and nuclear services firm, has entered into a strategic teaming agreement with Anduril UK to accelerate the development and deployment of sovereign autonomous aircraft for the British Armed Forces.

This collaboration, announced on 17 February 2026, focuses on addressing the regulatory, safety, and assurance challenges inherent in fielding next-generation uncrewed aviation systems. By combining AtkinsRéalis’ expertise in aerospace platform certification and cyber security with Anduril UK’s software-defined autonomous capabilities, the partnership aims to provide the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with trusted, “commanded, not controlled” systems that align with the technological priorities established in the recent Strategic Defence Review (SDR).

For the UK defence supply chain, the agreement signifies a critical shift toward establishing domestic manufacturing and assurance frameworks for autonomous technology. A core component of the collaboration involves AtkinsRéalis supporting Anduril UK in the establishment of a dedicated UK-based manufacturing facility for uncrewed platforms. This facility is intended not only to meet the immediate requirements of the British Armed Forces but also to serve as a strategic hub for potential exports to the European market.
