Serco’s Mission Training and Satellite (MT&S) business, acquired from Northrop Grumman, has been selected as the sole provider for advanced training and simulator services to the US Air Force under the AFMS3 programme.

The single-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract carries a ceiling value of $972 million (£720 million) over five years. Serco expects to generate around $60 million (£45 million) in revenue from task orders during 2026.

The AFMS3 programme will deliver mission-critical training systems and services across more than 20 Air Force locations. It will support synthetic training exercises, enhance warfighter skills, and improve operational readiness through secure and efficient modelling and simulation capabilities.

The award highlights Serco’s strengthened position in virtually enabled training and simulation, a market with growing demand across NATO and allied forces.

Anthony Kirby, Serco Group Chief Executive, said:
“We are proud that MT&S has been selected to deliver the AFMS3 contract for the US Air Force. This contract reflects our growing capabilities in mission simulation, operational training, and Live, Virtual, Constructive technologies. These are key areas of strength and opportunity for Serco both in the US and internationally.”

The programme reinforces Serco’s defence credentials, building on its expertise in personnel readiness, design and engineering, and technology deployment. It also signals potential opportunities for partners and suppliers in simulation, software, and training systems integration.
