A defence authority has invited a tender for 40 pairs of night vision goggles
The type of goggles would be helmet or headgear mounted, hands free, image intensifier tube type. They must have an auxiliary momentary infrared light source.
The required technical specifications include:
a minimum detection range of moonlight conditions of 300m and star light conditions of 200m
a minimum recognition range of moonlight conditions of 250m and star light conditions of 150m
a magnification power of 1x and be able to increase up to 4x detachable lens
a minimum 40 degree field of view
a focus range 1m to infinity
2 eyepieces
an Infrared (IR) on indicator to provide indication while the IR function is active
an image intensifier tube with generation of 3rd or higher or xd 4 or higher
a minimum resolution of 64 line pairs per metre
a minimum 10,000 hours operational life
