CGI has been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) for a two-year contract for the Defence Learning and Management Capability (DLMC) E-learning Applications Support and Development.

CGI will work with LEO Learning to support the MOD’s development of a modern, integrated learning and management capability.  

Neil Timms, Senior Vice President for CGI’s UK and Australia Space, Defence and Intelligence operations, said: “We are proud to support The Ministry of Defence’s vital virtual learning environments that provide education and information 24/7 to all MOD service and civilian personnel based around the globe. CGI will, alongside LEO Learning, ensure our Armed Forces Personnel benefit from access to best practice learning technologies supporting the MOD’s continued digitisation.”   

Sean Nugent, Account Director at LEO said: “LEO is delighted to be working alongside CGI to continue to support the Defence Learning Environment. The combined strength of LEO and CGI will enable the MOD to provide an exceptional technology-based learning experience to all Armed Services Personnel.” 

CGI and LEO Learning will design, develop and deliver a sustainable and secure pan-defence learning environment. The e-learning applications will build on industry best practice learning technologies such as Moodle, Mahara, Alfresco and Learning Locker, hosted on the MODCloud Internet Connected Environment (ICE) on an AWS platform. CGI and LEO Learning will work with the MOD to meet business needs through the exploitation of learning applications and technologies.

CGI has been delivering mission-critical secure IT systems to the UK Ministry of Defence for over 40 years, including secure access to vital information and services wherever and whenever it is needed.
