About the work
Why the work is being done The current PSNI website does not reflect the digital age we live in. PSNI require a website that capitalises on the advances in digital technology to increase its engagement with communities whilst simultaneously enhancing the reporting of non-emergency incidents online and reducing its reliance on telephone-based contact.
Problem to be solved Increase PSNI’s digital engagement with the public
Channel shift – move to decrease the reliance on telephone-based reporting of non-emergency incidents
A simplified website that is easy to navigate to the information and services required
A website that is more transactional
A comprehensive search facility
Who the users are and what they need to do Users expect a modern, responsive and intuitive website. The Northern Ireland public, partner agencies and private sector organisations need to be able to engage with the Police Service of Northern Ireland digitally through the reporting of non-emergency incidents online (crime, road traffic incidents, antisocial behaviour) and missing persons. They must be able to contact the police digitally in order to apply or register for services, request information and provide feedback whilst being presented with a website that is easy to navigate.
