A government department has issued a tender for a fire boat.
The vessel will be:
one of the reserved fireboats in the fleet, it will be used to perform standby duty when on-run fireboats are attending their annual docking maintenance or urgent repair
used by the fire department for firefighting operations in Hong Kong waters
used in the event of an emergency or rescue situation where a vessel is in distress
The vessel should:
have a contract speed of not less than 25 knots
have a hull structure and main deck made from marine grade steel
have a superstructure made of marine grade steel or aluminium alloy
have a propulsion system comprising two or three marine diesel engines
be able to carry 9 crew members, 18 land crew for fire-fighting and have a life raft rescue capacity not less than 80 persons
