Canvas GFX has announced it has joined MxD (Manufacturing times Digital), a research and development institute focused on driving innovation in manufacturing.

MxD, sponsored by the US. Department of Defence, is one of 14 government-funded manufacturing institutes across the country. It aims to “tackle some of the military’s most challenging manufacturing problems while also serving as a central hub for data on the sector’s competitiveness.”

The new partnership enables Canvas GFX to share unique expertise and insight relating to technical visual communication challenges and workflows within the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector. It will also benefit from the opportunity to collaborate with leading manufacturers and solutions providers in the development of cutting-edge digital solutions for the sector.

“As we respond to customer demand with enhanced capabilities in remote collaboration and workflow optimisation, this is the perfect time for us to be partnering with such a dynamic and influential group,” said Patricia Hume, CEO of Canvas GFX. She added: “The presence of some of our largest customers, as well as the active promotion of women in technology and manufacturing, adds further appeal. We look forward to active participation within the community.”
