ADS is the UK trade organisation for the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, with more than 1,000 member businesses.
We work to support business development opportunities in our industries, encourage investment in technology and innovation, and to support UK manufacturing and our industries’ supply chains. We regularly host UK companies from across our sectors at UK and international exhibitions, working to support them in developing new opportunities at home and overseas.
We are delighted to welcome this year’s DPRTE to the new venue at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, which opened in 2018 and in its first year has hosted numerous successful exhibitions and events, including Security & Policing and the 2018 Farnborough International Airshow.
DPRTE is an important event that brings together companies from across the UK’s innovative and dynamic defence sector and Government organisations. The event gives both buyers and suppliers an invaluable opportunity to collaborate, build connections and showcase the expertise and capability they can offer.
The show is dedicated to helping companies develop procurement skills across the sector, enabling growth in the long-term partnership between the Ministry of Defence and industry. This partnership is vital to making sure the UK Armed Forces have access to the best equipment available, as well as helping to generate greater economic prosperity in the UK.
ADS will be participating in DPRTE, on hand with advice and support, and helping both exhibitors and visitors to build the connections that are essential to maximising the value of new opportunities.
UK Defence sector turnover has grown to an annual turnover of more than £22 billion recorded in 2017. The UK is a valued international partner as an exporter of world-leading platforms, equipment, systems, support and services, averaging second place in the global rankings on a rolling ten-year basis and average annual export orders worth £7.3 billion in the five years to 2016.
A strong industry and Government partnership has been formed for the UK defence sector, where the Defence Solutions Centre and Team UK bring together Government, industry and academia to meet our international customers’ needs for tailored world-class defence solutions.
ADS also works closely with the Department for International Trade’s Defence & Security Organisation (DIT DSO) to help companies in the defence and security sectors to develop export opportunities around the world.
