CONNECTING THE DEFENCE COMMUNITY WITH INSIGHT, INTELLIGENCE & OPPORTUNITIES

Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability (DPRTE), the sector’s premier procurement event, will take place at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre on 28 March 2019.

Sitting at the heart of the event, the DPRTE Defence Procurement Pavilion will provide visitors with an unrivalled opportunity to engage directly with key procurement organisations who are responsible for setting procurement strategy and delivering the MOD’s annual procurement spend.

The UK defence industry is an increasingly lucrative marketplace.  The MOD is Britain’s industry’s largest customer, buying everything from office equipment to education services and all kinds of facilities management services as well as military equipment and supplies of all kinds.

The UK Government has also cut through the red tape with online resources being made available detailing opportunities, policy updates and advice on funding. These steps have been taken to increase not only the number of companies supplying to the MOD, but also their variety.

For MOD and wider public sector personnel engaged within the delivery of procurement, the Pavilion will bring together key organisations, providing a unique networking opportunity. In addition, the Pavilion offers the chance to share and explore the ideas and best practice that are actively supporting and developing current objectives and initiatives.

Organisations participating within the Defence Procurement Pavilion include Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S); Doing Business with Defence Sector; Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO); and MOD Information Systems and Services (ISS).

DE&S’ responsibility is to equip and support the UK’s armed forces for current and future operations. Employing around 12,000 people and with a budget of £14 billion, DE&S plays a vital role in maintaining military operational capability by acquiring and supporting a wide range of world class equipment and services.

DIO plays a vital role in supporting our armed forces by building, maintaining and servicing the infrastructure needed to support defence. DIO is responsible for enabling defence people to live, work, train and deploy at home and overseas.

ISS provide Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to defence, spending around £1.7Bn annually on such items as computers / telephony that everyone would recognise, to specialist military capability like smart headsets for troops, remote navigation systems and even satellites. They also monitor and defend our networks to ensure they are safe and secure.

The Defence Procurement Pavilion will also feature Frontline Commands Army, Navy and Air and Submarine Delivery Agency.

Don’t miss out on your chance to meet directly with many of the key players currently engaged within the delivery of MOD projects and gain an insight into potential future sub-contract opportunities. Book your place at DPRTE 2019 now: www.dprte.co.uk/book-now
