DPRTE 2019 is the UK’s premier defence procurement event and brings together buyers, suppliers and defence thought leaders in an engaging environment where they can network and discuss the latest market developments and opportunities.
The event will host four unique Knowledge Transfer Zones, which are designed specifically to enhance the knowledge and skills of all attendees, both buyers and suppliers, who are engaged within the defence acquisition supply chain.
Supported by the Department for International Trade (DIT), the DPRTE Export & Business Growth Knowledge Transfer Zone will provide exhibitors and visitors with specialist export advice and practical assistance, enabled through DIT’s Defence & Security Organisation (DSO) and its close working relationship the Ministry of Defence and Export Control Joint Unit.
Delegates have the opportunity to visit the DIT DSO stand to meet civilian and military advisers and to attend a number of seminar sessions aimed at the UK SME defence & security community featuring topics such as Defence Solutions Centre, Support for UK SMEs; Military Support for Defence & Security Exports, Export Licensing Demystified, Media Support & Opportunities; Cyber Security Exports; and Defence Growth Partnership.
The UK is Europe’s biggest defence exporter, and second in the world only behind the USA. In 2017 the UK won defence export business worth £9 billion – up on the previous year’s £5.9 billion – from a share of the global defence market estimated at 12%.
