In keeping with what is now a well-established tradition, DPRTE 2018 will welcome high-profile partners from both industry and government to facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing on the day.
Government bodies supporting DPRTE 2018 include the MOD’s bespoke trading entity Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), the Department for International Trade (DIT), the UK Defence Solutions Centre (UKDSC), the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP) and SBRI / Innovate UK.
These organisations will be joined by industry and academia partners including ADS, NDI, techUK, Cranfield University and the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN).
The Knowledge Transfer Network is an Innovate UK offshoot which aims to build better links between science, creativity and business. At DPRTE 2018 KTN will explain its work connecting companies, government agencies and research organisations with tech hubs, start-ups, public funding bodies, venture capitalists and private investors.
Also on hand to offer R&D advice will be Cranfield University, which will once again be returning to DPRTE to share its wealth of experience in teaching, consultancy and collaboration with the MOD.
This R&D focus will be continued by DPRTE partner the UK Defence Solutions Centre. UKDSC is an industry first – an independent national body set up to address the major challenges facing the sector by engaging the entire defence value chain to develop innovative defence solutions for customers around the globe, including the UK MOD.
Also bringing its export knowledge to DPRTE 2018 is techUK, a membership body representing over 950 companies employing approximately 700,000 people. In its daily operations techUK offers SMEs workshops on issues including international business and sponsorship, as well as supporting them with the resources to identify and advance innovation in the key technology markets representing the most significant opportunities for growth both domestically and internationally.
Continuing this global focus is leading sector trade association ADS, which will be on hand to explain the solutions and services it employs to connect supply chains with the UK Home Office, MOD and export markets.
