Section VI: Summary of Requirements / Description of Work
Summary of Requirements / Description of Work: Military Research & Technology. The requirement is for a Aircraft Mass, Performance, Modelling and Simulation specialist service. The service is to provide design expertise on current and future air vehicle structures, construction and mass properties including quantitative analysis of the effect that alternative configurations and structural layouts would have on overall performance of aircraft including UAV’s. The service will be required to reverse engineer complex aerospace structures and vehicles in a reliable manner, in order that, without access to the full range of data normally available, the structural and system masses and overall performance of any air vehicle can be assessed to a high level of accuracy in a timely and responsible manner.

The service must also provide expertise in the both static and dynamic modelling of aircraft performance, both quasi-steady state and transients. The service will be required to use a range of bespoke modelling and simulation analysis codes, primarily through MATLAB-Simulink. Furthermore the service must provide expertise in Man-in-the-loop as well as constructive simulation. Specific expertise is required in testing airborne integrated weapons systems performance and tactics development through simulation.

The sensitivity of the material from which this work will be drawn dictates that the work must be completed within Defence Intelligence Capability Assessment Offices, by an individual or individuals capable of working on material classified higher than Secret. Prospective bidders should include with their Expressions Of Interest, evidence of relevant capability in these areas. The Contract is being let for 5 years,.
