Meet The Team

Noel Tovey-Grindlay – Managing Director

Noel has 8 years of experience in the design of complex interconnection systems in the defence sector including the land,  maritime and energy sectors. During this time Noel has gained the skills to take a system from a rough concept to top level interconnection schematics through to detailed cable harness design and 3D routing of complex systems in 3D CAD environments.

Having worked in the defence sector on a number of high profile projects has given him the background knowledge to identify and develop new products for the defence sector.

He has a vast amount of experience on a number of design tools whilst working on large scale defence projects including Zuken E3, HarnWare, Fusion 360, AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor.

As well as the design of systems Noel has also worked closely with a number of suppliers to deliver cable harness to meet the project requirements and ensuring they meet the quality requirements of the client and ensuring the delivery is on time and meets the programme schedule.

With these skills, there is no project that is too complex for Noel to handle

John Cronin – Lead Engineer

John has worked in the cable harness manufacture industry for over 20 years and has built a wealth of knowledge in the design and manufacture of cable harnesses.

He has worked on a number of high profile defence projects including Ajax, watchkeeper, AS90 and Foxhound giving him an excellent understanding of designing cable harnesses for the land environment and the challenges that are faced in the installation of cables harnesses into land platforms.

John is also a subject matter expert in the cable harness design tool HarnWare, he provided the official training at TE for HarnWare for almost 10 years and trained hundreds of new users and support all existing users.

He also managed the setup of the harness manufacturing facility at the TE site in Swindon (UK), giving John a huge amount of experience in the manufacturing and quality assurance processes.

The NEO Consortium

NSTG Engineering is now part of the NeO (New Engineering Order) consortium.

The definition of ‘TURN-KEY’ is ‘a type of solution that is easily or readily deployed into a current business, system or process by a third-party, which is able to be used immediately once installed or implemented’.

The NeO (New Engineering Order) Consortium is the collective name for the group of companies that have agreed to come together in a collaborative way to support primes in the delivery of ‘Platform Integration on land and maritime vehicles. To cover military communication across current and future projects.

We represent a third party supply chain solution to fulfil project requirements, with a strong focus of ‘on We understand there is a need to have more than one option for programme contingency and to ensure competitiveness when looking at suppliers. Yet, having a ‘primary’ set of suppliers for any project is the safest solution.

Utilising potentially costly additional support only as a last resort. This is why the size, flexibility and capability of the companies in this consortium are a very particular match to the requirements of any project. We are a group of companies, with a proven track record and can be the partnered supplier for Platform Integration.
