4. Description: The Awarding Authority would like to provide Mental Health and Anti-Social Behaviour training for community safety professionals.
The Awarding Authority are particularly interested in providing a full one day training and awareness course for a minimum of 20 people. The Awarding Authority are looking for at least 60 people to be trained in total, and the Awarding Authority will provide a suitable venue and refreshments. An evaluation of the course will also be required.
Anti-social behaviour professionals have highlighted the challenges in effectively resolving anti-social behaviour cases where mental health features for the victim, perpetrator or both. These cases are often the most complex and challenging to resolve. The Awarding Authority are looking for a training and awareness course which will include the following:
Introduction to Mental Health
The Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by Mental Health Act 2007)
Mental Health Treatment
Information Exchange with health and social care
Mental Capacity Act 2005
Communicating effectively with victims or perpetrators experiencing poor mental health
Participants in this course will include Housing Officers; Youth Offending team staff; mental health practitioners and police officers.
Providers will need to be available to deliver this training before the end of March 2017.
