The Project itself will involve the restoration of the Victorian Skelton High Street, concentrating on property facades and the public realm of the High Street and its environs.
A total of 24 properties will be involved. The properties are exclusively two-storey. Work on the property facades will involve replacement of shopfronts in timber,including some separate doorways to upper floor flats/ storage areas, removal ofrendering, making good and re-pointing, other work to first floors including replacement of windows, repairs to lintels and sills, repair and replacement of rainwater goods and general building work.

As part of their Townscape Heritage (TH) Programme, The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a Grant of #952,200 for a Townscape Project in the village of Skelton-in-Cleveland.
The total scheme cost of #1,528,248, with the balance being provided by SCVP, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, the Skelton & Gilling Estate (major local landowners) and Skelton & Brotton Parish Council
