II.1.4) Short Description:
The service required will be for the recycling and recovery of the contract waste to maximise diversion from landfill so that at least 50 per cent of the contract waste is diverted from landfill. Waste will be delivered by the Council or its contractor, to a single nominated delivery point. The waste is collected using roll on roll off open containers and compaction containers ranging in size from 35-40 cu yd and transported using a hook lift service.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Recycling and Recovery of Residual and Bulky Waste from Council Household Recycling Centres/Civic Amenity Sites. Indicative residual waste tonnages for the 6 month period 1.4.2016 to 30.9.16 are given below. Tonnages are not guaranteed and will be subject to seasonal variations, levels of usage and the degree of on-site segregation. Drumlough 468 tonnes. Carryduff 818 tonnes. The Cutts 2 977 tonnes.
II.2.5) Award criteria

II.2.14) Additional information: Anticipated contract start date will be 1.4.2017 for an initial period of one year with the option to extend by any period, or periods, up to a maximum of a further two years extension subject to review, satisfactory performance and continued need for the service. Dates are provisional and may be changed at the Council’s absolute discretion.
