Proposals have been lodged for a new children’s day nursery near Preston.NJL Consulting’s Manchester office has submitted plans to Preston City Council for a nursery providing approximately 200 places for local children. Acting as retained planners on behalf of Ashbridge School, NJL prepared the full planning application to transform the proposed site at Maxy House Farm just off Sandy Lane, north west of Preston.The area has a need for additional places due to recent population increases and the government’s manifesto pledge to increase entitlement to all three and four year olds to 30 free hours per week from September 2017. As a result of this, Lancashire County Council Early Years Forum has put forward this scheme as one of six schemes for a capital funding grant to assist in meeting its statutory obligation to make places available.
