II.1.4) Short Description: The objective of this tender is to appoint a single Contractor to supply, install and commission a state of the art Rain Erosion Test Rig (the ‘Test Rig’) that will has been designed and built specifically for wind turbine rotor blade applications. The supplier shall have the capacity to deliver the Test Rig to our Blyth site by 31.3.2017.
Division into Lots is not appropriate in this instance as ORE catapult is seeking a complete Test Rig.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
ORE Catapult has the objective to develop a state-of-the-art rain erosion test facility for wind turbine rotor blades.
This test facility will include a ‘rotating arm’ rain erosion test rig to research the fundamental science behind rain erosion on wind turbine blades.
To support the development of this test method, the test rig must be sufficient in design, functionality and operation to simulate reproducible rain erosion test conditions that are representative of the operating environment of offshore wind turbines.
Ideally, the rain erosion test rig shall have been designed and built specifically for wind turbine rotor blade applications.
The supplier shall be expected to provide all necessary expertise, personnel, materials and instrumentation to design, build, install and commission a rotating arm rain erosion test rig at the ORE Catapult test centre in Blyth.
The supplier shall have the capacity to deliver a fully commissioned and operational test rig by 31.3.2017.
