4. Description: The (EIH) Environmental and Industrial Hazards Laboratory is the microbiology water testing facility for the Navy, RAF and Army in accordance with BRd 820, JWP 4.01, STANAG 2136 and GAI 3006. The laboratory tests up to 2500 potable waters annually according to the Blue Book guides for Presence/Absence of Coliforms/E coli and Legionella and holds ISO17025 accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for these processes. This analysis is conducted using a Colilert instrument manufactured by Idexx.

A contract for the purchase of the necessary materials is required to enable the procurement of these essential items. A three-year call-off contract has been identified as the most cost-efficient option.
