4. Description: Please note that this is a Request For Information (RFI) only. This request is not a commitment by the Authority to launch a formal procurement process and the requirement, described below, is subject to change, the objective of this RFI is to explore existing solutions available in the market.
The Requirement:
The Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering (DSAE) require 28 x AC/DC Power Supply Trainers (AC/DC PST) for the delivery of electrical training to tri-Service military avionics technicians being trained on fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft electrical and avionics systems. The training aid is required to replace existing AC/DC PSTs that were built in the 1990’s, are nearing obsolescence and are increasingly difficult to maintain due to spares availability. The requirement is to replace/modernise the current training aid to meet the requirements of the attached 2 MoSCoW (Must Have, Should Have, Could Have, Will Not Have) and Training Objectives documents.
The Authority is requesting information on:
What COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) and/or MOTS (Military Off-The-Shelf) options are available currently to replace AC/DC PSTs; are any modifications required; what are the ROM costs? ROM costs shall include:
Licence (Options – 5 years and perpetual)
Ongoing support and maintenance for a period of 5 years minimum
Train the trainer package
Delivery, installation of the new PSTs
Disposal of the old PSTs (12)
What development paths are underway that may meet the requirement?
If COTS option is not available, what options are available for further consideration to meet the requirement with further R&D?
