Section VI: Summary of Requirements / Description of Work
Summary of Requirements / Description of Work: Microwave radio equipment. The UK Ministry of Defence (UK MoD) has a requirement for a deployable radar analysis suite for use on Maritime platforms with Global Reach. The equipment shall be housed in 19-inch open architecture racks, and will have the potential to be cross decked from platform to platform to support requirements at short notice. The system operator shall have both the ability to analyse specific parts of the spectrum, along with having full spectrum awareness of activity in the bands of interest. The proposed system is expected to be technically mature with a Technology Readiness Level of 9. As part of the tender assessment, bidders will be expected to provide hardware to support evaluation trials of their proposed solution at a MoD Establishment, which will be selected to replicate the target environment. For the purpose of this trial, the UK MoD will provide an Omni directional antenna to cover the appropriate frequencies. Trials will be undertaken between 1st and 30th November 2016. This requirement is only open to companies based in the United Kingdom, USA, New Zealand, Australia and Canada. There may be options to purchase additional quantities of the selected equipment.
