4. Description: General Requirements for Services
Before commencing the Services, the Contractor shall:
within 10 days of the Commencement Date submit to the Company’s Project Manager all detailed information, method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work necessary to perform the Services.
Services Specification
Investigation: inspect the Site and report to the Company on any matters identified that affect the Services.
Installation: install the cabling at the Site in accordance with the following Engineering Design Specification Documents:
Airport specific protection processes
Installation of Cables LV to 66kV
Completion Tests: the Contractor shall carry out the following Completion Tests:
Time sheets
Before and after photographs
BS7671 (where applicable)
Day work sheets
As built drawings
Completion Testing Procedure:
The Contractor shall issue a Communication to the Company when it considers that the Services are ready for Completion Testing or, if the Services are to be Completed in Sections when a Section is ready for Completion Testing.
The Communication shall set out the intended date for the carrying out of any Completion Tests.
The Company’s Project Manager or his nominee shall be entitled to attend the completion tests and if required propose an alternative date for such completion tests to take place.
If the Company’s Project Manager or his nominee does not attend for the completion tests at the agreed time the Contractor may proceed with the completion tests notwithstanding the Company’s absence.
The Contractor shall issue a Communication to the Company with the results of the completion tests including how many times the completion tests were attempted for each item forming part of the Goods before they were passed.
If any item fails to satisfactorily pass the completion tests on the first attempt the Contractor shall meet with the Company to discuss whether or not such items require replacement. If following such a meeting the Company instructs the Contractor to replace items that failed the completion tests or take such other corrective action as it may require, the Contractor shall do so at its own cost as soon as possible and in any event within six weeks.
Reinstatement: the Contractor shall reinstate the Site to the condition it was in prior to the Services being undertaken.

About the buyer’s selection process:
We will be looking for Suppliers who have experience and understanding of Heathrow Airport, all other UK airports and/or other large-scale projects. It is also important that all work is carried out safely, without exception, and delivered to a high standard, while having your own airside licenses for operatives and vehicles would be advantageous.
If shortlisted, Suppliers may be asked to provide evidence to support any statements or information submitted during this process.
Following shortlisting, Suppliers will be invited to take part in our formal tender process through our internal portal. At this stage, Suppliers will have the opportunity to submit a bid, including a rate card which may be based on model projects.
