4. Description: This Request For Information (RFI) seeks to understand industry’s current capabilities with regards to the provision of Combat Clothing – clothing designed specifically for the deployed soldier.
The British Army continually seeks to upgrade and update the clothing capabilities issued to service personnel. Current focus areas are high-volume ‘core’ items used in temperate environments: Jackets (sometimes called Smocks), Shirts, Trousers and Under-Body Armour Combat Shirts (UBACS), as well as gender-specific items or variants of items.
This RFI therefore invites responses from all suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to improve the understanding of the Army Headquarters on the maturity, availability and performance specifications of such products.
The Authority wishes suppliers to note that whilst select suppliers might be invited for further discussion on the basis of their responses, this RFI is not directly linked to procurement activity. In addition, this RFI does not seek to collect information from the wider supply chain, such as material manufacturers or sub-system/component suppliers.

Any participation in this market engagement and any response to this RFI is entirely at your cost and risk. The MOD is under no obligation to proceed with a formal procurement or in any other way proceed with the project and shall not be liable to any participants for any costs arising from participation in this process.
