A request for technical information on a multi-deck container storage system for airports.
The Israel Airport Authority is interested to get technical information regarding multi-deck containers storage system for use in airports. Respondents are asked to confirm if their systems comply with a range of criteria including:
modular structure allows the storage capacity to be extended as required
the whole system can be dismantled and relocated as required
compatible for storage of AKH and AKE containers types. Total deck levels required: 4 (first deck leveled with the container dolly roller surface)
capacity – 350 containers AKH type, at least storage capacity and number of containers in each lane
footprint required for installation of system containing 4 decks and 350 containers at least – as small as possible footprint dimensions (m2 ) 3 (cont.)
lifting device (one at each corner) to manoeuvre the containers from each deck to the first deck and vice versa, for loading /unloading the container to/from the container dolly
type of lifting device – electro-hydraulic, controlled from each deck, designed for handling up to 2 empty containers
movement of the lifting device to next deck (downward or upward) done by single press of the control button
lifting devices fitted with safety devices/mechanisms and emergency operation capability in case of failure in the main system
access staircase enables the employees to reach the decks, supplemented by emergency escape ladder made of non-slip material
possibility of adding an insulated panel roof with a thermal resistance of R>1.65 m2K/W
