A pipeline has been launched for Prisoner and Non-Prisoner Fresh Bread and Morning Goods.The contract start Date is 8 November 2024. Approach to market date is 8 March 2024.The Ministry of Justice requires a Contractor to provide the supply of Fresh Bread and Morning Goods to all public sector and in-scope private sector prisons in England and Wales. This supply is critical to the prison service who currently feed over 75,000 prisoners as well as prison staff and visitors, with estimates to increase over 85,000 during the life of the contract. The Contractor must be able to provide a core range of bread products and have the ability to deliver products on a national basis. Products must also comply with all relevant food safety legislation.The number and location of prisons to which the Contractor shall be required to deliver may change to include additional prison sites as a result of the closure of some existing facilities and opening of new facilities.The anticipated term of the contract will be 4 years from servicecommencement date with the option to extend (in accordance with the terms of the contract and at the Authority's discretion) for a period of 1 + 1 years.To help the Ministry of Justice define their requirements for the new Bread and Morning Goods contract, please can you complete the survey () and provide any other information you think may be relevant.We invite Contractors to share their feedback on the draft specification.
