A project to provide an aircraft parking platform at Fetesti Airfield, Romania.
Description
Project 2018/3AF35028-00 – an aircraft parking platform – is required to provide facilities in support of the NATO deployment of one tactical fighter squadron (16 aircraft, in addition to the 4 which are in place for national purposes) and is programmed in the approved CP 9A1385.
The scope of the project is to provide a new rigid platform, with a total area of 25,210 square metres. The apron structural package is designed with 34cm BCR 5 cement concrete, 25cm stabilised ballast with hydraulic binders and 40cm ballast foundation with a 50cm stabilised earth-form layer with hydraulic binders and non-woven geotextile.
The platform will be surrounded by an earth berm on three sides, in order to protect exposed sites from potential blasts. Drainage, electrical and floodlight systems complete the scope.
