A defence authority has invited a tender for a diesel side loader forklift truck.
The heavy duty diesel side loader forklift truck (capacity 5 tons) will be used for carrying loads in the side of the vehicle, where the regular counterbalance fork lift is unable to lift.
It is specialised for handling lengthy loads such as:
propeller shafts
missile storage containers
missile launchers
timber
The lifter is to be designed to work in narrow spaces. As the loads are carried on the side of the lifter, the driver should have the advantage of a clear view from the front side and to the back side.
