The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) team, part of the Defence, Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) – intends to place a contract with Ametek GB Ltd T/A Advanced Measurement Technology for the in-service support of Gamma Spectroscopy systems for a period of 5 years with an estimated maximum value of £4M. This is necessary to ensure maintenance of the capability until it’s out of service date.

It is considered that this contract can be awarded using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice, pursuant to Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations 2011 for technical reasons.

Summary of the Technical Reason: Ametek GB Ltd T/A Advanced Measurement Technology are currently the only supplier who can provide the continued in-service support of The Gamma Spectroscopy Systems.
