A multilateral funded consultancy for climate resilience modeling, planning and design for towns in the Himalayas.
You will be expected to provide:
a thorough and integrated hydrology, geohydrology, environmental and climate risks and impacts assessment in important watersheds and urban areas in 2 towns
development of interactive map-based ‘climate adaptation decision supporting tools’ that gives an indication of flood-prone zones and other hazards prone zones; various climate-resilient solutions; information on potential water retention; detention, and storage capacities; and information on likely costs of selected measures
development of action plans on climate-resilient improvement with evaluation of possible points of caution for each of possible measures, selection, and prioritisation of these resilient measures at upstream and downstream urban areas
capacity building training and capacity building activities on climate-resilient planning and development, which can support and facilitate the development of regional climate-resilient and sustainable watershed management plan on the critical watersheds
As a result of this project will be:
a comprehensive situation assessment and analyses will be carried out in watersheds of the 2 cities
an interactive map-based ‘climate adaptation supporting tools (CAST)’ will be developed and operational
a strategy framework on integrated climate resilience development and catchment-level water resources management will be developed
enhanced knowledge and capacity planning for climate resilience
