4. Description: This tender, known as Borderlines Project, is for the development and delivery of a cross-community and cross-border programme and will provide opportunities for local communities to contribute creatively to the Riverine Community Park site content in the Strabane/Lifford area, official opening and initial months of programming. The project will work with a range of groups on collective projects to create physical community artwork pieces to be installed on the site of the Riverine Community Park. Artwork will be specific to the history and culture of the area, site and diverse local identities. The project will also feature a cultural showcase for the launch. The showcase will consist of 3 themes, including verbal arts, visual arts and performing arts, to explore the history, issues, migration and identity relevant to the site. The objective of the programme for deliverers is to bring communities together and use the creative arts for community and voluntary groups to demonstrate the characteristics of the site from different perspectives. The Riverine Community Park Project is funded by the SEUPB PEACE IV Programme 2014–2020 as a shared space capital development together with the Dept. for Communities (NI) and the Dept. for Communities and Rural Development (ROI). Donegal County Council (DCC) are the Lead Partner for the Project while Derry City and Strabane District Council (DCSDC) act as Project Partner. The Riverine Community Park Project aims to address the impact of the conflict in the Lifford and Strabane area, and its hinterlands, by regenerating the border riverside area to create an iconic cross-border community park straddling the River Foyle. It will be a shared space to bring communities together from both sides of the border, to re-connect and to form new, long-lasting connections and relationships. The Riverine Community Park project proposes to create 30 acres of new community park space and infrastructure at Lifford and Strabane. It proposes to create a neutral, shared space by utilising agricultural land lying along either side of the border. It will span both sides of the River Foyle and be connected by a new pedestrian and cycle bridge. The Councils propose that this diversity of the offering will make for a more inclusive and sharing experience. The Borderlines Project will work with a range of groups to both create physical community artwork on the Riverine site and create a cultural showcase for the launch of the project. The artwork will relate to the history and culture of the area, site and diverse local identities. The showcase, on the other hand, will focus on the 3 themes of verbal arts, visual arts and performing arts to explore the issues and differences of the locality. The outputs from the project will leave a sustainable legacy to ensure visitors/users of the site continue to be aware of the cultural diversity of the area, the impact of division and will also provide a cross-border, cross-community network within the creative arts field that can continue to use the unique outdoor cultural space for related events. It will also leave a legacy of enhanced awareness/capacity within the local community and voluntary sector for peace and reconciliation. Please refer to CfT documents for further detail
