3. Contract type: Service contract
4. Description: Opportunity type: Public Sector
Industry : Education and training, Defence, Energy
A defence authority has invited a tender for an electrical power generation, distribution and consumption training.
The training will be used by the power engineering lab trainees to study electrical power generation, distribution and utilisation.
It must be composed of a set of modules representing a scaled down version of the various sections forming a complete power transmission system.
The electrical power generation module should enable the trainees to perform tests and experiments including (but not limited to):
generator standalone analysis including effective resistance of stator and exciter measurement, no-load and open/ short-circuit test and efficiency measurement
manual synchronisation and parallel operation using a synchronoscope
automatic synchronisation using a synchronisation relay
power factor control and its effect on generator
response of the alternator on a constant-voltage constant-frequency system
active, inductive and capacitive power generation and regulation for performance analysis of the generator
configuration, fault simulation and response for over-current, over-voltage, undervoltage, unbalanced load, reverse power, over-frequency and under-frequency conditions
The electrical power distribution module should enable the trainees to perform tests and experiments including:
determination of the voltage transformation ratio of transformer at no load and current transformation ratio at short circuit
measurement of the effect of the load type and magnitude of the secondary voltage
understanding the efficiency and parallel operation of transformer
understanding the principle of 3 phase busbar system, busbar coupling and busbar transfer
understanding the earth fault and short circuit effect on busbar
