4. Description: The Awarding Authority is seeking to procure Examination of Ordnance (X of O) equipment which will enable Army to measure the 40mm Cased Telescoped Cannon (CTC) bore to its full length and diameter as part of routine in-service examinations. Quantity 16 X of O sets are required to be delivered to MOD Donnington over a 3-year period. Deliveries should commence early 2022.
The requirement is based on two pieces of equipment; an internal micrometer and a videoscope to support the 40mm sizing. The equipment will need to be NATO codified and packaged in accordance with DEFSTAN 81-041. The internal micrometer must be able to measure between 39-45mm, the full length of the bore (2800mm), record and print readings, be powered by mains (240v) and vehicle power supply (24v) and have a battery life exceeding 2 hrs. The endoscope must be able to view the full length of the bore (2800mm), capture clear images with the ability to print the images and add text, be powered by both mains (240v) and vehicle power supply (24v) and have a battery life exceeding 2 hrs.
Invited Tenderers will be required to provide sample equipment of the solution proposed for evaluation at the ITN stage which will contribute to the final evaluation scores.
The Authority would prefer to place one contract with a Prime Contractor/Lead Organisation but may consider placing separate contracts with 2 different contractors for micrometer and endoscope if this proves better VFM. The Contractor should aim to maximise the use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf or Modified/Military-Off-The-Shelf equipment and be able to adapt the equipment to meet the Authority’s requirements. The Cyber Risk Profile for this requirement identified by the Cyber Risk Assessment is Very Low (Reference – RAR-KDGA444S). A link will be provided for the tenderer to complete the Supplier Assurance Questionnaire at ITN stage.
