II.1.4) Short Description:
The United Water Supply Company of Georgia LLC (UWSCG) has received funds from Agence Française de Développement (‘AFD’) and European Union (EU) towards the cost of the Khashuri Water supply and sanitation project, and intends to use part of the funds to payments under the contract for UWSCG-IPC-DB-Lot 2: Design and build of headworks, reservoirs and transition mains in Khashuri.
General:
Preparation of any/every plans, schedules, and reports, in particular (but not limited to):
• demolition schedule/plan, update of Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and Due Diligence Report (DDR);
• site waste management plan;
• site dust management plan;
• site surface water management plan (if applicable);
• site excavated material management plan;
• site biodiversity management plan;
• traffic management plan;
• health and safety management plan and community health and safety plan.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The employer intends to prequalify firms for the following initial scope of works to be implemented under the contract:
Headworks
I. Design and construction of 2 test borewells, with approximate depth 50 m, to determine water yield and radius of influence – 1st at Tshramukha headworks, 2nd at Khtsisi headworks,
II. Design and construction of Tshramukha headworks;
(a) wellfield – total required capacity approximately 6 500 m3/d. The number, depth, and deployment of the working borewells shall be determined after examination of the test borewell results;
(b) buffer reservoir between the boreholes and the pumping station (capacity to be determined by the Contractor);
(c) pumping station providing water to two existing reservoirs – Bekami (v=1 000 m3) and Zemo Seri (6 000 m3). The pumping station shall have 2 separate sets of pumps. The number and capacity of the pumps to be designed by the contractor. Total head (around 80/100 m) shall consider head losses in the rising mains;
(d) chlorination building with disinfectant dosing system;
(e) local SCADA with option for connection to the central SCADA;
(f) decommission and demolition of existing structures;
III. Design and construction of Khtsisi headworks
(a) wellfield – total required capacity approximately 5 000 m3/d. The number and deployment of the working borewells shall be determined after examination of the test borewell results;
(b) buffer reservoir between the boreholes and the pumping station (capacity to be determined by the contractor);
(c) pumping station providing water to one existing reservoir – Gagarini (v=4 000 m3). The number and capacity of pumps to be designed by the contractor. Total head (around 80/100 m) shall consider head losses in the rising main;
(d) chlorination building with disinfectant dosing system;
(e) local SCADA with option for connection to the central SCADA;
(f) decommission and demolition of existing structures;
IV. Design and construction of reservoirs
(a) replacement of the old Bekami reservoir and construction of the new one V = 1 000 m3. Water supply to the town shall be maintained during construction which requires a temporary by-pass;
(b) replacement of the old Zemo Seri reservoir and construction of the new one V = 6 000 m3. Water supply to the town shall be maintained during construction, which requires a temporary by-pass;
(c) rehabilitation of the existing V = 2 x 2 000 m3 Gagarini reservoir. A new valve building shall be constructed. All the internal piping shall be replaced. Water supply to the town shall be maintained during the works, requiring a temporary by-pass.
V. Design and construction of mains
(a) rising main from Tshramukha PS to Bekami reservoir DN160mm HDPE, L= 5 000 m approximately, with associated wash-out and air valve chambers;
(b) rising main from Tshramukha PS to Zemo Seri reservoir DN315mm HDPE, L = 6 000 m approximately, with associated wash-out and air valve chambers;
(c) rising main from Khtsisi PS to Gagarini reservoir DN280mm HDPE, L= 4 600 m with associated wash-out and air valve chambers;
(d) transmission main from Gagarini to Zemo Seri reservoir DN225mm HDPE, L= 1 400 m with associated wash-out and air valve chambers.
Important note:
Water production from existing headwork facilities shall be maintained during construction of the new ones, and the water abstraction shall be uninterrupted
VI. Design and construction of an administrative and technical building
(a) demolition of the existing laboratory building;
(b) construction of the new administration building containing, among others, new water laboratory, central scada room and training room;
(c) yard arrangements
VII. Central SCADA
Data from District Metered Areas chambers and from WWTP shall be retrieved only, equipment like valves and pumps form reservoirs and from headworks (Tshramukha and Khtsisi) shall be remotely controlled and operated.
Training of the employer’s staff on-the-job training of the Employer staff on operation and maintenance of the aforementioned objects.
