The government wants consultancy to develop an emergency preparedness and response plan (EPRP)
You will be required to develop an emergency preparedness and response plan for a region.
The plan will assist the Civil Defence Commission with managing the public response to potential flood emergencies with respect to preparedness, education, planning, and implementation as hazardous conditions arise.
The plan is needed to:
improve the preparedness and resilience of the communities and assets in the flood hazard zone
– reduce the damage and loss in the cases of floods in the East Demerara Water Conservancy (EDWC) and in the event of dam failure and overtopping
The EDWC is one of Guyana’s major water storage and flood control facilities.
The consultancy is wanted for 3 months.
The government has received finance from the International Development Association towards the cost of the flood risk management project. It is using part of the proceeds to pay for this consultancy
