Justification For Non-Competitive Decision: Babcock Land Defence Limited, acting as Agent on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), proposes to award a single source Contract to Aeronautical & General Instruments Ltd (AGI) for the Repair, Calibration and Maintenance of Gun Barrel Bore Gauge Measuring Kits for a 5 year period with 2 x 1 year Options. The Bore Gauge Measuring Kits are used to support the maintenance of weapon systems and are used to carry out regulatory Quarterly Inspections and Annual Examinations of Military Weapon equipment’s including AFV’s (Tanks), Artillery Equipment, Mortars and Aircraft Cannons.
AGI is the OEM for the equipment and holds the exclusive rights to the design drawings and technical specifications (including all relevant calibrations) for the Bore Gauge Measuring Kit.
AGI is the OEM for the equipment and no other party has access to the information necessary to calibrate, maintain and repair the equipment in order to provide equipment support services required by the UK Ministry of Defence.
