The objective of this exercise is to seek your views regarding the future supply of kits for DNA extraction, DNA quantification and PCR amplification of autosomal STR (short tandem repeat) loci for DNA profiling in a forensic science context.
By engaging with you (as well as others in the market place) this will ensure you have an opportunity to help shape and influence future contractual arrangements for the SPA.

The results of this exercise will be used to inform SPA’s decision making process in respect of introducing improved and more effective means of producing DNA profiles.

II.2.14) Additional information: SPA may consider dividing the contract into 3 lots as follows:
Lot 1: Supply of DNA extraction kits;
Lot 2: Supply of DNA quantification kits;
Lot 3: Supply PCR amplification kits.
As part of the RFI process, potential suppliers are asked to provide their views on what benefits/risks may result from splitting the tender into 3 separate lots.
