4. Description: Medical education services. The Authority requires provision of 2 pharmacy technician student placements per year.
These placements shall last for a two year period and shall lead to the award of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) recognised qualification of Level 3 Diploma (National Vocational Qualification) in Pharmacy Services Skills (Competence). This shall result in the student’s registration with the GPhC.
This training shall incorporate a GPhC recognised course of underpinning knowledge such as the BTEC National Diploma Pharmaceutical Science (Knowledge) or Level 3 Diploma Pharmaceutical Science (Knowledge) and shall be undertaken through day or block release at college.

Other Information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

The total value of the contract is £43,800.00 (ex VAT), which is inclusive of college fees.

The Authority has the option, within its sole discretion, to extend the contract by a period of up to 24 months to account for one extra intake of pharmacy technician students. The option period is from 01-August-2022 to 31-July-2024. The value of the option is £29200 (ex VAT).

Electronic Trading. Potential suppliers must note the mandatory requirement for electronic trading using the Contracting, Purchasing and Finance (CP&F) electronic procurement tool. All payments for Contractor Deliverables under the Contract shall be made via CP&F. You can find details on CP&F at

Cyber Security. The MOD has a duty to protect itself from Cyber threats and now we extend this to Suppliers we engage with. As an extension of the Government’s Cyber Essentials Scheme the MOD, working together with Industry and other Government Departments, have developed a more robust Cyber Security Model, under the umbrella of the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP). All prime contractors must have the cyber security controls specified in DEF Stan 05-138 (Cyber Security for Defence Suppliers), as appropriate to the cyber risk level specified in the contract. The Authority has determined the level of risk at Very Low (Reference: RAR-7REX3GZX) as defined in DEF Stan 05-138. In order to do business with the MOD you must have the cyber security controls required as shown above.
