Reason for Award: “The values in this Notice are provisional and no contract has been entered in to by the Authority for this requirement.
The Vehicle Support – Armoured Tracks Portfolio (“VS ATP”) Team, as part of the UK Ministry of Defence (“MoD”), intends to place a supply contract with Parker Hannifin (“the Contractor”) for the Manufacture and Supply of quantity 8 Titan Stage 2 Cylinders. The Contract is for a maximum period of 6 months at an estimated value of £127,520 (EX VAT) GBP.
Only the Contractor, as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (“OEM”), has access to the complete design and technical information, expertise, and know-how necessary to provide the Cylinders that are built to a suitable safety standard and supported by the platform Safety Case. A third party would not be able to carry out this work without access to this necessary design and technical information which is required to ensure that the Cylinders are safe for use within the required timescales, with all risks and hazards ALARP and Third party rights to all information is not available.
It would be technically impractical for a supplier other than the Contractor to fulfil the activity associated with providing Stage 2 Cylinders that are fit for use, as well as updating and gaining approval of the Platform Safety Case within the required timescales, to the necessary standard and to the reasonable satisfaction of the Authority.”
