II.1.4) Short Description: Bedford Borough Council is requesting tenders for the provision of treatment of green waste collected from the HWRC (Householders Waste Recycling Centre) and treatment ofgreen waste collected from the kerbside. The material subject to processing within this item of the contract arises on the Householders Waste Recycling Centre situated at Barkers Lane in Bedford and the materials collected by the Council?s collection crews from the kerbside. HWRC collected green waste is deposited in dedicated 40 yard skips, which need to be removed on a regular basis by the HWRC contractor and delivered to the composting/treatment contractors site, to ensure sufficient space is always available for public to deposit their green waste. It is predicted that between 1,500 to 2,000 tonnes of waste can be expected to be brought into the site annually, but this figure is not guaranteed.
