Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS England (Central Midlands) is looking to tender an Unscheduled Dental Care service within the East and North Hertfordshire and Herts Valleys CCG areas.
This service will require the potential providers to deliver an unscheduled dental care service from two fixed sites located within the following Hertfordshire areas:
— Lot 1 within East and North Hertfordshire CCG Boundaries.
— Lot 2 within Herts Valleys CCG Boundaries.
The bidders(s) will be required to identify and secure the premises from which the services will be delivered as outlined in the draft specification.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
A triage service will be provided and appointments booked via NHS 111. The successful provider(s) will be required to offer urgent dental care appointments from 12:00-20:00 on weekends, bank holidays and 18:00-20:00 Monday to Friday. (Please note these hours maybe subject to slight change). It is anticipated that the contract shall run from 1.7.2017 until 30.6.2022 with an option to extend up to a further two years (subject to the necessary consent which is being sought via NHS England internal governance Commercial Executive Group (CEG).
The duration of the contract will be aligned to synchronise with the Integrated Urgent Care contract currently being tendered by the East and North Hertfordshire CCG.
The aims of this service are:
1. to deliver an unscheduled care service providing assessment and treatment for patients with a variety of non life-threatening dental conditions to the population of Hertfordshire;
2. to reduce inappropriate attendance at A & E.
