A former factory in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter which dates back to the 1800s could be transformed into a residential scheme under new plans filed with the city council.Number 156 Warstone Lane is in use as the Warstone Centre, which comprises offices and workshops over three storeys.It was constructed in the mid to late 19th century, with extensions added in the 20th century.Plans submitted by Abacus Architects on behalf of applicant Hope Felske propose the change of use to the grade II-listed property to provide 14 apartments.The work will include the demolition of the 20th century extensions, renovations to the façade and the creation of a new courtyard and three-storey extension to the rear of the building.
