Work on the £1.6m refurbishment of Hull’s Trinity Indoor Market is set to start. The refit and extension of the grade II-listed building will include upgrades and repairs being made to the main market spaces, stalls and the market place frontage. The main market spaces will have an enhanced food offering, with a significant element of the new development being a restaurant opposite Holy Trinity Church. The project, which is designed to create a busy, vibrant indoor market, is being funded predominantly by the LEP with £1.35m coming from the Regional Growth Fund and £250,000 coming from Hull City Council’s capital programme budget. The Trinity House Lane entrance to the site closed at the weekend (15 October 2016), while existing stalls from the food hall have already moved to the mall area of the building in anticipation of the project starting.
