Portsmouth City Council is set to start work on new homes in Havant after planning permission was approved for the scheme.Local contractor PMC will start work on a total of 48 new homes – a mixture of houses, flats and accessible flats – on council-owned land to the rear of Blendworth Crescent.The £7.3m project is targeted for completion by spring 2018.Almost 40 per cent of the properties will be let privately at affordable rates, while the remainder will be made available through Havant Borough Council’s choice-based letting system Hampshire Home Choice.The council has already received planning permission to build new homes at land next to Holybourne Road, in Havant, and has applied for planning permission to build more new homes on another site it owns in Havant.Subject to planning conditions being finalised, work will start next year on 30 houses and eight flats at land next to Kingsclere Avenue.
