A grade II-listed former music hall, which has hosted performances and speeches from the likes of Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde and David Lloyd George, could be redeveloped for student accommodation.Swansea Council has received a pre-application planning inquiry to convert the upper floors of the vacant Albert Hall into student flats, with retail being proposed for the ground floor.The building first opened as a music hall in 1864 and in the past hosted performances and speeches from the likes of Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde and David Lloyd George.A proposal to convert the former Sun Alliance building on St Helen’s Road into 69 studio apartments for students has also been submitted to Swansea Council.
