Plans are in for phase one of Future Carrington, a £100m mixed-use scheme to regenerate one of the largest freehold sites in the North West. The first stage of the development (pictured) includes Carrington Village, which promises to deliver up to 900 two- to four-bedroom homes, and land off Common Lane that would provide up to one million sq ft of employment space. The plans for phase one have now been submitted to Trafford Council. They include more than 32.1 acres of green open space, including play areas.Land and property company HIMOR Group, which is owned by Bill and Will Ainscough, said that the vision for the plans is to deliver a lasting legacy that brings real benefits to the surrounding area. It said that the proposals would transform the local economy by bringing 1,900 jobs, 250 construction jobs in each construction year, and 140 indirect jobs with new household spending. There would also be a new homes bonus of £7.6m paid to Trafford Council. In addition, the plans involve the relocation of Carrington Rugby Club with the club benefitting from a new pitch, floodlit training area and a clubhouse. And the scheme envisages a local centre providing shops and services for the local community.HIMOR is working in partnership with Trafford Council to deliver Future Carrington in stages. The project aims to regenerate the former Shell site and surrounding estate, one of the largest freehold sites in the region. The application is due to be determined by Trafford Council later this year.
