Urgent delivery of High-Value steel sheets supporting defence manufacturing

When a primary logistics provider failed to deliver, a defence manufacturing programme faced potential disruption due to delayed raw materials.

An international defence contractor required the urgent transport of 28 oversized plate steel sheets – essential inputs for production – across a distance of more than 1,100 miles into mainland Europe. With production timelines already under pressure, any delay risked halting manufacturing activity and impacting downstream schedules.

The consignment was split across three dedicated trailers, each carrying 15 tonnes, with loading completed over a two-day window while documentation, customs pre-clearance and delivery scheduling were progressed in parallel.

Within 48 hours of the initial request, the convoy was in motion.
