The current contract for Special-purpose mobile containers in Bristol is projected to end on 23/5/2017 and may be available for re-tender.The current contract for Special-purpose mobile containers in Bristol included for transport containers for use within the National Health Service Blood and Transplant (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Authority’) for the transport of retrieved ocular tissues from organ donors. The solution must be cost effective, simple to operate and include temperature stabilisation materials where required.The specification is divided into two separate lots (although some can be combined to multi task where storage conditions are the same), reflecting the needs to transfer ocular tissues, their corresponding documents and samples from local organ retrieval sites to Eye Banks throughout the National Health Service. Detailed requirements for each lot are included together with general requirements applying to both lots.Manufacturers will be required to provide the Authority with a minimum documentation set (in English) which comprises a full set of instructions for the transport containers, providing clear and specific guidance as to their use including temperature stabilisation materials and packing recommendations for part filled containers.Manufacturers must have a proven track record in a similar environment to the Authority and will be required to provide validation data showing details of container performance with contents at specified start temperatures across a defined range of ambient temperatures.All suppliers will be assessed against a defined set of evaluation criteria for each lot prior to the equipment being accepted for use within the Authority.Please note the successful award of contract (s) for Human Organ containers (Lot 1) may be subject to the successful award of the Service requirement (Lot 2).
