Newton Aycliffe construction company Finley Structures has won a contract to fabricate and erect 560 tonnes of steel for a project on the Isle of Wight.The business will be working on a £25m development at Ryde Academy, located near the Northern coast of the island.Planners have given the green light for a new school and sports pitches to be constructed, with the project comprising a two and three-storey building.Six existing blocks will be demolished, with the majority of this site then set to be turned into a car park.Sir Robert McAlpine awarded Finley Structures the contract.The development is one of three school contracts the family-run company has recently secured, with Finley Structures also working at Abbotsfield School in West London and Roundhay School in Leeds.
