Dalata has received clearance to proceed with acquiring the operating interest of a four-star, 502-bedroom Dublin hotel.The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, formerly known as The Burlington Hotel, is located in the city centre on the corner of Sussex Road and Burlington Road.Last month, Dalata confirmed plans to buy the operating interest. Investment firm Deka Immobilien conditionally agreed to purchase the freehold interest of the property from Sussex Road Nominee Ltd and BNY Mellon Trust Company (Ireland) Ltd.The Irish hotel operator has now received clearance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission to proceed with the deal.On completion, which is expected “over the coming weeks”, the venue will be rebranded as a Clayton Hotel. Dalata will commence operations through a 25-year operating lease agreed with Deka.As well as the 502 bedrooms, the hotel comprises two bars, a restaurant, a lounge, a 24-hour gym and extensive conference and meeting facilities.Dalata will pay €2.5m (£2.25m) for the operating interest.
