Merseyside-based property developer Network Space has submitted plans to regenerate a 14-acre former colliery site in Salford. The Newton-le-Willows-headquartered company has lodged an outline planning application for the former Ashtons Field Colliery, a development site (pictured) close to the M61. The application provides for up to 200,000 sq ft of new employment floor space.Network Space said that the proposals would enable it “to promote a flexible and market-facing planning permission”.A decision on the scheme is expected by the end of 2016. Approval would trigger the completion of the sale of the site from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).Network Space was formerly known as Langtree until a rebrand in 2015. The group, whose majority shareholder is founder and chairman Bill Ainscouth, directly owns and manages an investment portfolio of more than 3 million sq ft of modern industrial and office developments across 60 locations with a combined value of over £130m.
